Annual “Sexless” Doubles Handicap Tournament 2010

A cool evening and due to a miscellany of mishaps .. hospital visiting /injuries on court the event finished up with only 4 entries.
Jackie & Vince;  Mel  & Sandy ;  Rachel & Vic ; Mark & Dean ( Volunteer fill in.)
 The games progressed accomapnied by Tea & Coffee   Vic's sausage rolls and a variety of biscuits.
The winners by taking all their three games  were Mel & Sandy 3-0  ( 90-53)
Runners up:- Jackie & Vince 1-2  ; Rachel & Vic 2-1 ; Mark & Dean 0-3

Match 6th December 2010

A very cold night!!!! and a result of a 6-3 defeat. Mark & Mel picked up one while Adam & Jackie took the other two.
Vic & Rachel of course had a softening up role and the honour of playing the last game clothed to meet the conditions.
A good night. The young male members of the opposition were very impressive. Will add some photos of the Quarndon Mixed Team next week. 

THE Draw for 13th December!!!!

Greetings all.
On a cold ... very cold night (29/11) at Quarndon (Vic/Sandy/Paul)  had a night of 3 handed singles rotating..... results roughly equal!
Did the Draw for the SEXLESS Mixed Tournament on 13th December as follows:-

Jackie & Vince
Mel & Paul
Rachel & Vic
Sandy & Adam
Chris & Mark
If there are other potential players please let  Paul know
Everyone will play everyone else 2 games to 15 with one pair handicapped Scratch .
Paul as usul will  be handicappng except for his own games.

Mens Match @ Ripley Leisure Centre 25th November 2010

Alas another defeat BUT an entertaining match which all enjoyed. With an unchanged team from the home Match against Etwall Dragons Monday last it started well  with Adam and Mark winning the first game in 3 (21/16;12/21;21/15). They then lost in 3 to the young lads, who Vic & Paul had softened up and lost the final game to the Ripley 3rd (Strongest pair)  in  2.  

Vic and Paul as 2nd pair  took on their youngsters losing 22/20;25/23.

Then following up with 21/11;24/22 & 21/14;21/19 defeats.

Sandy and Vince in their first competitive away match made double figures in all but two of their games but as with Vic & Paul losing all their games. The final match result was an 8- 1 defeat (413/294 aces)

The first match of the season saw our "weakened" team lose to Uttoxeter 9-0 (378/169 aces). Uttoxeter are new to the league and were only able to come in at Division 5 . Likely promotees for the next season or so. Next Mens Match

Etwall Dragons

Second match at  Home to Etwall Dragons  on 22nd November. A cool evening but a better result only losing 5-4 (329/339 aces). Mark and Adam gave a good base winning all three games. Sandy & Vince although losing all 3 gave a creditable performance, taking the Etwall 1st pair to 3 sets. Whilst winning 1 game Vic & Paul let the third set against Etwall's 2nd pair slip, when consolidating a 19-15  lead would have given QBC an overall win .... 6 points on the bounce gave Etwall a 21-19 win!!!!! Same team is out for the Ripley Match 28th November.
