 I forgot to take the book but AD gave us a sheet from theirs.

 Unfortunately it doesn't scan well.

We lost 6-3.

 Mark & Jackie won 1(Presumably the first game.)  but the AD player injured his knee & so didn't play the rets of us. 

Mel played with Dean & I palyed with Liz.

If I can put it like that.

 I have not checked but pints seem to be

 Mel & Dean         84 for   87 against

 Liz      & Vic         87 for 101 against

 Jackie & Mark    1758 for  159 against  (presumably 175 or 178)

 The conceded games affect those scores however.

Match Men's Rolls Royce 18th Nov 2013

A reasonable and prompt start with Vic & Paul going down in 3  in the first rubber.  Overall  121/147 -  1/6 -  0/3

Simon  & Scott , although going down in two games in the first rubber, in the 2nd game  only lost by 27/29 . Their third rubber was also closely contested with both games going to 20/22 points.

Overall 117/136 - 0/6 - 0/3


Mark & Dean took all three rubbers, with 2 going to 3 games.
Overall 159/111 - 6/2 - 3/0


 Thanks to the Lady supporter from R.R, who managed the score books and also agreed to deliver the Result Card ... thus saving postage!!!A cold evening overall result - 397/394 - 7/15 - 3/6
WE WON ON POINTS!!!!!

Match against University on 10th November

3 courts available at 1.00 p.m. and we were all ready to go. Scott & Simon 1st pair had  steady  play in all three games but going down   0-3 / 93-126 points despite one game going to 19 points.

 

 

 

 

 

Edward and & Zak had equally steady play but with same result going down 0-3  / 89-126 and also with one game going to 19 points.

 

 

Vic & Paul maintained the overall " "team form"  going down 0-3 / 96-126  with 3 games going to 18 points.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overall not an unpleasant experience a good hall (lights excepted) with the use of 3 courts, sporting opposition and a finish before 3.00p.m. 0-9  / 278-378.

Mens Against Abbey Dunkirk 4th November

A good evening off promptly with Vic and  Paul playing games 1, 5  &  9 Conceeding  game 1 fairly easily and only coming into form in game 9 losing 22/24 in the final game.

Scott and Simon did very well although losing all 3 games they took  2 to 3 losing them only narrowly.

Mark & Dean did the rescue business winning 2 of their 3 games  giving the match  a final result of  2-7  games 4-16  points 325-395

Away at Brookside.

6.15 pm Vic recievcd a call from Brookside to find out where our hall was!!! The Brookside team were searching Quarndon. HELP the match should be at Brookside. Emergency calls around our team saw us all at Quarndon. Brookside had "cocked it" up!! It was their home game. After  some discussion the mass convoy of cars went to Long Eaton. and the match got underway on time at 7.30 pm.       Phew !!!
 Games 1 and 2 went well Mark & Jed winning 42/30 and Vic & Paul winning in 3 -- 59/56.
Mark and Jed followed this up with two  3 "setters" narrowly losing the deciding games 19 & 17.
Vic & Paul had an awful game against Brookside 3rd pair losing 42/15 but redeemed themselves with a final 3 set winner 59/56.  
Scott  & Simon, while losing their first game came back with a great win 42/23 and narrowly lost a hard fought  3 "setter" with one game going to 24/22

So overall we played 23 games  losing 4/5 in games 428/405 points. Not a crushing defeat.

First Mixed of 2013/14 ..Ripley B

A good match with Mark & Mel winning 1 game  but the the rest going to Ripley B 
Just two 3 "setter" the one that Mark & Mel won and one they lost.

The final scores being 8-1 in games and 416/266 in points.

Reportedly an enjoyable night nonetheless.

1st Match of 2013/14 against The Nook

Vic & Paul kicked off  first  with a poor first game followed by a worse one loosing 42-18. However their performance improved  and the chance to win either of their last games to achive a "3 gamer"..!!! but  finished with an overall

0-3 / 83-126.

 

 

 

Scott and Simon then raised the standard and had a closely contested 34-42 in which each game might have gone the other way. They maintained their level of play throughout to finish with

0-3 / 93-126.

The final pair Mark & Dean as refelected in their smiles below won all of their games despite in their last game trailing  8-1 & 9-2. This gave them an overall 3-0 / 126 - 87 

The team result was  3-6 / 302-339

29th April Mens against University of Derby

Final Match of the Season .

A prompt start with all the players available for the off. Overall a fairly closely contested and enjoyable match, with no pairing overwhelmed. We lost 7-2 with 3 games going to 3 THREE Mark and Dean in two of them , which they won and Scott and Simon the other. Paul & Vic lost all there games but weren't thrashed. The overall points are a good reflection of a good night that almost went to 10.00 pm  University 405 Quarndon 330. 70 difference over 21 games.
