Men's Match against ALFRETON B 1st December 2014

 

A cool evening but a good start at 6.30 pm with Vic & Paul in their usual 1/5/9 Rubbers Role.

 Ultimate they lost all their games BUT with respectable scores. O/6 Games 0/3 Rubbers 100/126 Points




Scott & Simon playing 2/4/7 Rubbers had a great evening despite losing all 3 Rubbers two of which went to 3 games.
2/6 Games 0/3 Rubbers 134/157 Points






Mark & Dean playing 3/6/8 won all their Rubbers allowing two of them to go to 3 games.... hoping to tire the opposition!
6/2 Games 3/0 Rubbers 167/145 Points.


A late finish right on 10.00 pm extend to 10.15 as the opposition Captain had need to complete his results record and sign the Match Card.
3/6 Rubbers 8/14 Games 401/428 . Overall loss by only 27 points!

Mixed Match v Ashbourne 3rd November



 Another splendid Match with "sociable" opposition.... and the usual COLD QBC night. Vic's sausage rolls enjoyed as always. What of the game ?

An overall defeat  3/6 Rubbers.. 372/401 points.

Vic & Mel opened with a win and also a win in rubber  5 with the second game going to 28/26  140/129 points.

 
 

Mark and Rachel had a great night playing 8 games but losing 3 rubbers.  140/162 points

 



 

Dean & Jackie had some close fought games winning 1 rubber and losing 4 games   92/110 points

Mixed Match Away to Etwall B

A speedy pleasant match in HOT CONDITIONS with socialable opponents and 3 courts available from the start.

Vic & Liz  as No1 Pair  dropped 0/3 0/6 points 72/126




Mel & Ed fared a little better  0/3 1/6/ points 90/144



Nick & Jackie (First time playing together.) 0/3 0/6 65/126



Overall it was a defeat  177/396 points

Men's win v Brookside B

Another enjoyable match against good sociable opposition.

Prompt start at 6.30 p.m with Vic & Paul taking on the 1/5/9  Games Role.
A lengthy 3 Rubber 1st Game, which they lost. Game 5 was another 3 Rubber loser and game 9 with the match result ... win for QBC ... decided another loser. 0/3 overall Points 132/166

 


Scot & Ed in Game 2  took it to a 3 Rubber win following up in Game 4 win  & 7 lose. 2/1 overall. 138 / 128 points.












Mark & Dean ignored the 3 Rubber option and won games 3/6/8  for the match to be won 5/4 .
 3/0 overall. Points 126/81

1st Men's of the Season at THE NOOK

A great match at The Nook  (West Park Leisure Centre) with the teams this year turning up at the right Centre. With five of the Rubbers going to 3 games.

Ed & Nick playing their first match together and 2 of the  Rubbers going to 3 games.

 

Paul and Vic 's support being restricted to playing the games with a best points game of 21-16.

To qualify for the Competition players needed to complete 20 games. There were 3 Lady Qualifiers and 7 Gents Qualifiers . The results are shown below the presntation photographs..

Home Match against Brookside 20th January 2014

 A win 8-1 well done all. Smiles all around
Edward and Liz won  3 straight games but had an exciting finish to their final game which they won in the 20's.

Mark & Mel also won comforably in straight games

Deane & Jackie were again very comfortable but in the final game of the evening dropped the 2nd game and conceeded the decider in a very close game.
